Judy Branson, age 79 of Paris, passed away at 12:03 P.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Marshall Rehabilitation and Nursing surrounded by family and friends.

A visitation is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Williamson officiating. The burial will be in Edgar Cemetery in Paris.

Judy was born January 21, 1945, to Paul and Dorothy (Henley) Henson. She married Carlyle Richard Branson on July 27, 1963, at the Assembly of God Church in Paris. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2019.

Judy was the head cook at the Paris Country Club for many years and later was an in-home caregiver. She was a longtime and active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Paris. When Judy wasn't working or volunteering at the church, you could find her tending to her flower garden and yard, or coloring in one of her Christian coloring books.

She is survived by her children: Richard Wayne (Becky) Branson of Martinsville, IL, Randall David (Jennifer) Branson of Marshall, IL, Carol Ann Branson of Paris, IL; her grandchildren: Garrett (Ambrosia) Branson, Colin Branson, Amanda LeSage, Presley Branson, Shelby Branson, Tessa Branson, John Lawyles, Lydia Lawyles; her two great grandchildren; and her siblings: Mary Arrasmith of Vermilion, IL, LaDonna Potter of Paris, IL, Shirley Emerick of Westville, IL, Russell (Monique) Henson of Danville, IL, Norma Pruiett of Paris, IL, Janet (Jim) Downs of Ridge Farm, IL, James Henson of Kentucky; her sister-in-law: Betty Ann Kelly whom Judy shared a very close relationship with; and her close friend: Norma Eveland.

Judy is preceded in death by her siblings: Betty Grable, Kay Mackesy, Evelyn Henson, Allan Henson; and her brother-in-law: Donald Pruiett.
