Joyce Lee McElyea (Smith), age 77, of Paris, Illinois passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Per her wishes, cremation will follow visitation and there will be no funeral services at this time.

Joyce was born on February 25, 1946 in Jacksonville, Illinois to Wendell and Esther (White) Smith.

Joyce was a Certified Nursing Assistant and was a longtime member of Bethel Mission Apostolic Church in Paris.

She is survived by her children: Sandra (Frank) Litteral of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tabatha (Roger) Heitzman of Rockville, Indiana, James (Sally) McElyea of Orion, Illinois; eight grandchildren; and her brother: Warren (Connie) Smith of Springfield, Illinois.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents.
