Josephine Marie Brendle's Obituary
Josephine Marie Maffi Brendle, age 90 of Vermilion, Illinois, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in her residence. She was an executive legal secretary in California and New York and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris. Born April 14, 1925 in Ensley, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Camillo and Sebastiana (Giordano) Piazza. She married Carl C. Maffi January 26, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, he passed away January 13, 1979. She then married Louis Brendle March 22, 1980 in East Rockaway, New York, he passed away November 5, 2002. Survivors include a daughter Anita Lorraine Griffith and her husband Rick of Vermilion, Illinois, a son Joseph Camille Maffi and his wife Suzette of Austin, Texas, five grandchildren; Josef Carl Epton of California, Arianah Musique Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tyler Joseph Maffi of Austin, Texas, Lita Rochelle Maffi of Portland, Oregon, and Roma Gina Durham of Los Angeles, California, three great grandchildren; Elizabeth, William, and Louis Epton, all of California, one sister Rose Poplet of Mabank, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers; John, John, John, and Joseph Piazza. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Zimmerman officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
