Joseph Laverne Rund, age 80, of Lucedale, MS. passed away July 25, 2014, he was born November 18, 1933.  A was a member of the Catholic faith, a retired Police Officer with the city of Paris, IL. and a retired Case Manager with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

He is survived by his daughter Doris Johnson (Raymond) Cook: grandchildren Brett (Candy) Johnson of Purvis, Ms., Pamela NIhiser of Colorado Springs, CO., Michael (Carmen) Johnson of Lucedale, MS and Christopher Nihiser of Nebraska; 13 great-grandchildren; his sister Shirley (Dean) Camp of Marshall, and his brothers Bob (Lupe) Rund of Hume and Valentine (Marie) Rund of Sacramento, CA

He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Rund, a daughter Patricia Rund and parents Wilbert and Helene Rund.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 in Edgar Cemetery.

Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
