Joseph Michael Henson, 66, of Paris, passed away at 2:22 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Gibson Hospice in Terre Haute, Indiana.

A visitation is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. on Friday August 25, 2023, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paris.

Joseph was born on September 5, 1956, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of the late John and Betty Hill Henson. He married Yolanda Yungco on June 27, 1979, in the Philippines. She survives.

Joseph proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He then went on to earn his bachelor's degree in mathematics and had a long career as a math teacher at Ivy Tech. Outside of school, Joseph was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and he enjoyed playing his guitar.

Joseph is survived by his wife: Yolanda of Paris; his children: Harold Henson of Paris, Joseph Henson Jr. "J.J." of Michigan City, IN, Jennifer Henson of Paris, Jeremy Thomey; his siblings: Jimmy Henson of Brownsville, TX, and Shirley Yeargin of Paris.

He is preceded by one sister.
