Joseph Patrick Flanagan, 66, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away on August 17, 2025 in DeSoto County, Florida.

Per his wishes, cremation has been chosen. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.

He was born on February 14, 1959, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of the late Patrick and Peggy Flanagan.

Joe was a 1977 graduate of Paris High School and went on to earn his degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1981. He later completed his Master's degree at Butler University. Throughout his career, Joe worked in both engineering and business, as well as in the real estate world. He lived in various places but truly enjoyed settling in Florida over the past decade.

Family was central to Joe's life. He is survived by his daughter, Meghan (Mike) Ferguson, and his cherished grandchildren, Avery and Logan Ferguson of Franklin, Indiana, who lovingly called him "Granddad." He is also survived by his son, Brandon Flanagan of Indianapolis, Indiana; his brother, Steve (Ann) Flanagan of Garden City, New York; and his nephew and niece, Tommy and Erin Flanagan.
