John Paul Fitzsimmons Sr. age 77, of Paris, Illinois passed away at 8:41 A.M. on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.

Following cremation, visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

He was born on November 20, 1945 in Paris, Illinois to Edward and Winfred May (Simpson) Fitzsimmons.

John was employed for the City of Paris, running the transfer station for over 20 years. He was also a longtime and active member in the Eagles Club.

He is survived by his children: Jay Fitzsimmons, Johnny Fitzsimmons Jr., Jerry Fitzsimmons, JoAnn Scott, Shannon Lacy; 13   grandchildren; and his brother: Fred Fitzsimmons.

John is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers: Robert "Bob" Fitzsimmons, Ronnie Fitzsimmons, Richard Fitzsimmons and his sister Ruby Fitzsimmons.

The family has asked memorial donations be made to Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
