Joan Givens, age 83 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 2:42 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Paris Community Hospital. She had worked at Zenith Corp., Coil Sales, Bridwell's Supermarket, and had been a meat wrapper at the Edgar County Locker. She was a member of Horace Baptist Church.

Born August 5, 1934 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Blanche (Hamilton) Cash. She married Frank Givens February 14, 2015 in Horace and he survives. Other survivors include her daughters; Rita Hepburn-Hale and her husband Sonny, Vickie Wilmoth and her husband Geoff, and Kathy Smitha, all of Paris, her second family; Millie Renner of Paris, Mike Givens of Bainbridge, Indiana, David Givens of Fulton, Iowa, and William Givens, eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Roger Newhart and her siblings; Melba Eveland, Robert Cash, Gene Cash, and Mary Bussart.

Visitation for Mrs. Givens will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Paris Health Care Center.
