Jerry Van Houtin, Sr. age70 of Lincoln, Illinois, formerly of Paris and Mt. Vernon passed away at 7:15 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2019 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Illinois.

He was an automobile salesman at Summers Martin Chevrolet-Cadillac Dealership.

Jerry was a member of Full Gospel Men's Fellowship, Chaplin Ministry at Centralia Correctional Facility, and Big Muddy Correctional Facility, and the Truck Stop at Mt. Vernon, IL for several years.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Ohio Chapel Cemetery in West Union, Clark County, IL. Memorials may be made to Prison Ministry.

Jerry was born May 25, 1948 in Paris, IL the son of the late Hurley Franklin and Marietta Alexander Van Houtin. He married Phyllis A. Creech Van Houtin March 15, 2014 at the Cross in Effingham, IL and she survives.

Jerry is also survived by his children: Jerry F. Van Houtin, Jr. of Nashville, TN, Leonard "Lenny" (Chrisphine) Van Houtin of Salem, IL. John E. (Laura) Van Houtin of Salem, IL, Louis A. "Tony" (Nikki) Van Houtin of Salem, IL and Allison (James) Carter of Lincoln, IL; his brothers: Art Van Houtin of Paris, IL and Olin (Kathy) Van Houtin of Mattoon, IL; his grandchildren:

Zoie Bryant of Centralia, IL, Ashley (Jay) Guzman of Mascoutah, IL, Mathew Dubson of Clinton, IL, Kayli Van Houtin of Homewood, AL, Morgan Van Houtin of Centralia, IL, Christian Van Houtin of Salem, IL, Jessica Van Houtin of Olean, MO, Elena Van Houtin of Salem, IL, Preston Wright of Odin, IL, Raven Carter of Lincoln, IL and Daisy Carter of Lincoln, IL and his 4 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a brother Richard Van Houtin.
