Jeanne (Babb) Shy, age 98 of Greenville, South Carolina and formerly of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Rolling Green Village in Greenville. She was formerly a bookkeeper for Edgar County Supply Company and was a member of Saint Matthew United Methodist Church in Greenville.

Born March 22, 1920 in Isabel, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Archie O. and Grace (Combs) Babb. She married Max Heltsley Shy February 7, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri; Max passed away December 24, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Jayne Ann Anderson and her husband Mike of Smolan, Kansas and Kathy Sue Quackenbush and her husband Howie of Moore, South Carolina, two grandchildren, Greg Anderson and his wife Heiké of Smolan, Kansas and Valerie Anderson of Mission, Kansas, and one great granddaughter Desiree Harrison of Emporia, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers Wayne Babb and Pfc. James Babb, two sisters Neva Price and Patricia Wombacher, and one infant sibling.

Graveside services for Mrs. Shy will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 in Fairview Cemetery, near Kansas, Illinois with Rev. Jack Woods officiating.
