Jeanette M. Waller, age 92 of rural Paris, Illinois, passed away at 5:48 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017 at Paris Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was the first female teller at Citizens National Bank, worked at the Edgar County Locker, Gracie's Sewing Shop, and other miscellaneous places. Mrs. Waller was a former member of Catholic Daughters of America, a member of St. Mary's Altar Society, Edgar County Farm Bureau, Edgar County Historical Society, BB Club, and Edgar County Homemakers Extension Association. Born August 4, 1925 in Buck Township, Edgar County, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Sophia Monica (Carroll) Mattingly. She married Eugene A. Waller November 14, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church and he passed away July 25, 2008. Survivors include her children, Leonard Waller of Paris, Illinois and Monica Waller of Indianapolis, Indiana, a sister Joanne Mattingly Ogden of Mason City, Illinois, and a brother Leon C. Mattingly of Buncombe, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers; J. Thomas Mattingly, Louis A. Mattingly, and Joseph Mattingly. Visitation for Mrs. Waller will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with a recitation of the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Ronald Hilt and Rev. Fr. Barry Harmon as concelebrants. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Altar Society.
