Janet Arlene Walters's Obituary

Janet Arlene Walters, age 87 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Horizon Health / Paris Community Hospital. She was a homemaker.

Born June 7, 1931 in Paris, she was the daughter of the late Asbury and Geneva (Rigdon) Dawson. She married Joe "Curly" Walters July 3, 1951 in Paris; he passed away October 8, 2002.  Survivors include two children, Nick Joe (Tonita Ann) Walters of Knoxville, Tennessee and Debra Walters-Jones of Paris, six grandchildren; Jeremy Walters of Covington, Indiana, Matthew Walters of Columbia, South Carolina, Amanda Allison of Chesapeake, Virginia, Terry (Jonya) DePriest of Linden, Tennessee, Dan (Angel) Knorr of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Savannah DePriest of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two siblings, Jack Dawson of Paris, and Norma Eveland of Paris, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Shaun Patrick Leeth and Timothy Paul Jones, a son-in-law Max Jones, Jr., and one brother Robert Dawson.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Dixon officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday.  Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.  For further information and online condolences, please visit www.stewartandcarrollfuneralhome.com .
