James D. Scribner, age 67 of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away at 12:06 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Majestic Care of Terre Haute.

Graveside services will be private. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jimmy was born on October 25, 1958 in Paris, Illinois to Kenneth and Georgia (Augustus) Scribner.

He was a longtime and faithful member of the Paris Baptist Church. Jimmy will be remembered as a hardworking and kind man who cherished every moment spent with his family.

He is survived by his siblings: Rose Cartwright (Marty Carr), Chris Garvin, Elora Johnson (Darryl), Darlene Hendrix, Betty Jo Stevens; and many nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Terry Augustus, and his brothers in law, Chester Garvin and Ken Stevens.
