James “Jim” F. Dunn, age 73, of Chrisman, Illinois, passed away at 8:12 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Paris, burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
Jim was born June 5, 1952, in Paris, Illinois to George Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Fulton) Dunn. He married Barbara Sue Dailey on June 29, 1974, in Paris. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Jim graduated from Purdue University in December 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Economics. He was a self-employed carpenter and a lifelong farmer on their multigenerational farm. He enjoyed watching sports and attending all types of events, from sporting competitions to fine arts performances. He also loved reading, spending time outdoors, and listening to WGN Radio.
He is survived by his children: Michael Dunn (Heather) of Paris, Illinois, Mark Dunn (Ali) of West Lafayette, Indiana; his grandchildren: Sean Dunn, Ada Dunn, Edie Dunn, all at home; his sister: Janice Schultz (Paul) of Olympia, Washington; and his sister-in-law: Lynn Hicks (Curtis) of Covington, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Paris Center of Fine Arts, Paris High School Baseball, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
