James H. Hefner's Obituary
James H. Hefner, age 85 of Marshall, Illinois, passed away at 4:11 a.m. Monday, January 1, 2018 at his residence. He was a foreman at the Illinois Cereal Mill for 18 years and was a Marshall, Illinois police officer for 10 years. Mr. Hefner was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a life member of Marshall VFW Post 5975.
Born October 26, 1932 in Mays Station, Illinois, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Frances R. (Nicholson) Hefner. He married Janet Faye (Walls) Hefner October 11, 1960 in Paris, Illinois and she survives. Other survivors include seven children; James E. Hefner and his wife Leslie of Brownsburg, Indiana, Debra Kay Jodry of Hermitage, Tennessee, Terri Lynn Thompson and her husband Randy of Marshall, Illinois, Kenneth Hefner and his wife Pam of Marshall, Illinois, Vicki Reynolds and her husband Steve of Martinsville, Illinois, Cindy Williams and her husband Randy of Marshall, Illinois, and Troy Hefner of Marshall, Illinois, one sister Charlotte Lawrence of Terre Haute, Indiana, eighteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings; Frances Sampson, Rita Benton, and Robert Hefner.
Visitation for Mr. Hefner will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Franklin Cemetery.
