James A. Douglas age 75, of rural Marshall, IL passed away at 10:08 p.m., Wednesday October 3, 2018 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was a 1960 graduate of Marshall High School. James was a farmer, a guard at the Illinois Department of Corrections in Danville, in Robinson and the Paris Work Camp.

He was a volunteer fireman for the Oliver Fire Department and a paramedic at Paris Community Hospital.

Services for Mr. Douglas will be private. Private burial will be in Forsythe Cemetery. Memorials may be made to E.C.C.F., Inc., DO it Fund.

Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.

He was born October 8, 1942 in Clark County, IL the son of the late Thurman and Mabel McCullough Douglas.

James married Patti Sue Hensley Douglas May 5, 1963 and she passed away July 26, 2015.

He is survived by his sons: Leonard (Kathryn Murdock) Douglas of Dennison and Joseph (Yah) Douglas of Dyer, IN; his grandchildren Tanner Douglas of Dennison, Declan Douglas of Dyer, IN and one expected March 30, 2019; his siblings: Faye (Dennis) Keefer of Marshall and Fred Douglas of TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one son Michael Douglas.
