James David Boling, age 77, of Newman, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at his residence.

In keeping with State of Illinois mandates due to COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone attending the service must wear a mask while inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects may do so.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m.-1:00p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. A funeral service will follow, with military honors by American Legion Post #211 and burial in Stafford-Crimmons Cemetery in Paris, Illinois.

He was born March 5, 1943 in Norris City, Illinois, the son of the late Elmer and Mary Elsberry Boling.

James married Treva Besherse Boling in Paris, Illinois on June 4, 1966.

He was a Gulf War Veteran and served his country during Desert Storm, as well as being a part of the Navy, Navy Reserve, Army Reserve, and serving in the 144 ^th Military Police in Owosso, Michigan.

He worked in communications for a living and was also a part of a few organizations that were important to him. James was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post #201, as well as a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Treva Boling of Newman, Illinois; his children: April (Jason) Boling Peterson of Farmington Hills, Michigan, daughter-in-law Valerie Boling of California; his siblings: Gordon (Roberta) Boling of Texas, Thomas (Christa) Boling of Minnesota; and his grandchildren: Oliviya Mejia of California, Jillian Peterson of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Brianna Peterson of Farmington Hills, Michigan.

James is preceded in death by his son James Boling.
