Irene C. Fitzgerald, age 86, of Paris, IL passed away at 2:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Twin Lakes Rehab & Health Care. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, V.F.W. 3601 Auxiliary and a Charter Member of Eagles Lodge Auxiliary.  She was a homemaker.

Following cremation a private memorial service and burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to E.C.C.F., Inc., Do it! Fund.

Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Irene was born July 2, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey the daughter of the late James Charles and Catherine Eileen Hood Murphy. She married John William Fitzgerald September 9, 1956 in Belleville, N.J. and he passed away February 15, 2006.

She is survived by her children: Karen Lewsader and her fiancée Max Moor of Paris and Ronnie Fitzgerald of Texas; her grandchildren Tara Fitzgerald Rogers of Paris, John William Ritchie of Chrisman, Kenneth Carl Lewsader of Paris and Dennis Breneman of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; her great-grandchildren: Brianna Blair, Caitlin Blair, Zane Blair and Sean Blair all of Paris, Kali Ritchie, Jack Ritchie, Deavonnie Tolley and Wyatt Tolley all of Chrisman and Xander Burroughs of Marshall; her siblings: Thomas Murphy and his wife Rose, Jean Marino, Maureen Ritner, Carol Petrucci and Diane Yesunas and her husband Edward and Greg Murphy  all of New Jersey.

Irene was preceded in death by her son: Michael John Fitzgerald; her siblings: James and Charles Murphy, Catherine Gruber, Mary Baldwin, Marge Bacarro, Patricia Kraus and Colleen Salmon.
