Helen Jean Peterson, 87, of Paris, Illinois passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Helen was born on January 15, 1935 in Marshall, Illinois to Eldred Combs and Ruth (Wallace) Combs.

She graduated from Fayette High School in the Class of 1952.

Helen put 29 years of hard work and dedication into the Paris Family Medical Center.

She married Richard Jerome Peterson in December of 1959 and they have been together for almost 63 years.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her son, Randy E Peterson (Penny) of Paris, IL; daughter, Ruth M. Clark (Bill) of Clinton, IN; her four grandchildren: Randy Allen Peterson, Kristian Klyaic (Dave), Hannah Clark (Cody), and Garrett Clark (Lanie); and her four loving great-grandchildren: Kymberley, Jay, Kaylee Jo, and Lucy. She is also survived by her sister, Elinor Miller of Greensburg, IN.

She enjoyed being outside and working in her flower beds. Helen also loved to go shopping, especially for clothing and purses. Most of all, her family was the light of her life. She cherished every moment she had with them.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Richard Jay Peterson.

Per her wishes, cremation has been chosen. No services are scheduled at this time. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
