Geraldine L. French, age 95 of Paris, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in Paris Health Care Center. Geraldine grew up in Vermilion. She was a homemaker, worked in the kitchen at Mayo Middle School, and worked at Kook and Link, Horney's Variety Store, George's Café, and Ginny Lee's Cafe. She also was an assistant Cub Scout den mother and a 4-H assistant. Born May 6, 1920 in Vermilion, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd E. and Ethel (Bedwell) Ford. She married Seth French and he passed away September 8, 2012. Survivors include a daughter Miki Hobson and her husband Mike of Paris, a son Mike French and his wife Debbie of Ridgefarm, four grandchildren; Michael Hobson, Tami O'Bannon, Monicca Harrison, and Lindsay Thomey, all of Paris, and three great grandchildren; Josh Jones, Craig Jones, and Alivia Krabel, all of Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother B. Ray Ford. Visitation for Geraldine will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 12 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Vermilion Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
