Gerald R. Burba age 80 of Paris, Illinois passed away at 6:02 a.m. on Sunday October 18, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

In keeping with Federal Mandates due to COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the state regulation of 25 visitors with masks allowed inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

If you are concerned about COVID exposure, the family understands, please feel free to send a card.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 21, 2020, followed by a private funeral service at 6:30 p.m. open to immediate family only at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois.

Gerald was born October 15, 1940 in Hodgenville, Kentucky the son of the late Logan Burba and Mary Wheeler Burba.

He married Marilyn J. Monk on May 5, 1972 in Marshall, Illinois.

Gerald was the longtime manager at Morgan Manufacturing in Paris, Illinois, a farmer, worked at DuPont, was the owner and operator of G&M Trucking where he loved to work on and drive his semis and was in the Boiler Makers Union.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Paris. He also served as a Private in both the United States Army and Army Reserves.

Gerald will be remembered as a man who loved taking care of his family and enjoyed his snowbird years down in Florida.

He is survived by his wife: Marilyn; his mother: Mary; his children: Randell E. (Annie Runnion) Moore of Paris, Illinois, Brian K. (Sonya Matheny) Moore of Munford, Tennessee, Angie R. (Jim) Hamilton of Paris, Illinois; his siblings: Judy(Fenton) Cash of Paris, Illinois, Smoke (Marcia) Burba of Paris, Illinois, Jean Ann (Kenny) Keifer of Cassopolis, Michigan; his grandchildren: Jason (Ashley) Fullerton of Camden, Tennessee, Luke (Nicky Harris) Fullerton of Camden, Tennessee, Danielle Brooke (Chris) Ballard of Munford, Tennessee, Keith (Raechyl) Moore of Atoka, Tennessee, Kyle (Mimi Truong) Moore of Nashville, Tennessee, David (Millie Arp) Hamilton of Paris, Illinois, Dr. Kacey (Arjun Seoni) Hamilton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Nick Hamilton of Paris, Illinois; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerald is preceded in death by his father: Logan; his daughter: Sandy Fullerton; his son-in-law: Larry Fullerton; his sisters: Janet Burba and Carolyn Johnston; and his great-grand-daughter: Ashley Fullerton.

Memorials may be made to the Edgar County 4-H Association.
