George William "Bill" Crunk's Obituary

George William "Bill" Crunk, age 62 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Gibson Family Center For Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana. Bill was a retired over the road trucker, working for several trucking companies, including Paris Transport.  He was a United States Army veteran.  He enjoyed trains, decorating for the holidays, roller skating in his younger years, and Papaw loved his grand babies.  He was known by George to most and Leopard by his trucking buddies, but he was "Little Bill" to his family and close friends.

Born June 17, 1956 in Paris, Illinois, he was the son of William and Barbara (Christenberry) Crunk. Survivors include his mother Barbara Crunk of Paris, Illinois, his children, Craig (Misty) Crunk of Paris, Illinois and Tiffany (Jason Shubirg) Hale of Fairview Heights, Illinois, sisters; Pamela Arthur of Mattoon, Illinois, Lela (Joe) North of Pryor, Oklahoma, Polly (Jeff) Montgomery of Paris, Illinois, Opal (Michael Hobson) Crunk of Paris, Illinois, and Brenda Crunk of Palatka, Florida, grandchildren; Kelsey Crunk of Rockville, Indiana, Damon Swyear and Jessalyn Main, both of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Justin and Jesse Wilguess, both of Marshall, Illinois, and Shawn Wilguess of Paris, Illinois, great grandchild Ayvah Hanks of Paris, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his girlfriend of 5 years Trudy Timmerman of Paris, Illinois, her children; Jasmine (Joe) Eveland of Paris, Illinois, Sasha (Deon) Hampton of Clarksville, Tennessee, and James (Liz) Davidson of Marshalltown, Iowa, and her grandchildren; Liem and Eli Eveland of Paris, Illinois, Micah Hampton of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Faith Davidson of Marshalltown, Iowa.  He was preceded in death by his father William Crunk, a brother Thomas Andrew Crunk, his maternal grandparents Arthur and Lela (Crume) Christenberry, his paternal grandparents George William Crunk and Elsie Irene Neal, a great niece Micheala Fitzsimmons, and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation for Bill will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 211.
