Freida Deloris (Lynch) Young, age 80 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 12:57 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Paris Health Care Center, Paris, Illinois. She was a Recorder for the Edgar County Clerk and Recorder's Office for 20 years. Freida enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was an active member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and also was a member of TOPS. She was an avid reader and historian and especially enjoyed Abraham Lincoln history. Freida was also interested in politics and enjoyed a good glass of wine with family and friends, especially her close friend Becky Clark. She enjoyed her ladies' card club, her Thursday outings with her sisters for lunch and was a die-hard Illini fan.
Born May 9, 1934 in Mershons, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Joe Arthur and Monnie Myrah (Mobley) Lynch. She married Raymond Allen Young July 20, 1952 at the First Christian Church in Paris, Illinois. Raymond passed away December 31, 2006. Survivors include four children; Brent Scot Young and his wife Pam of Danville, Illinois, Mercer Allen Young and his wife Betty of Paris, Illinois, Dana Ray Young and his wife Mary of Paris, Illinois and Angela Lynn Walls and her husband Brent of Loveland, Ohio, two sisters, Wanda Luth and her husband Billy of Paris, Illinois and Barbara Walker of Paris, Illinois, a brother Neil C. Lynch of Chrisman, Illinois, eleven grandchildren; Darren Young, Erica Young, Evan Young, Niki Gann, Casey Simpson, Nicole Shaughnessy, Daniel Young, Kirsten Middleton, Steven Middleton, Logan Walls and Keller Walls, a sister-in-law Freida Lynch of Paris, Illinois and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild and six siblings; Mildred Prater, Imogene Whitehead, Norma Baker, Mavis Creech, Beecher Lynch and Clyde Lynch.

Visitation for Freida will be held from 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at Noon Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
