Freeland Eugene Maynard, age 78, of Paris, Illinois passed away at 12:05 A.M. on Friday, January 13, 2023.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Vermilion Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Freeland was born on March 17, 1944 in Edgar County, Illinois, to the late Holland Russell "Pete" and Elfrieda (Eller) Maynard. He married Shirley Ann Stark on May 8, 1964 at the Baptist Church, in Paris and she survives.

Freeland was a pipeline inspector. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #408. Freeland also enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, and mowing his yard.

He is survived by his wife, his children: John (Lisa) Maynard of Paris, Illinois, Mike (Dawn) Maynard of Paris, Illinois, his brother, Bob Maynard, his sisters: Shirley Wilkey, Sharon Evitt, Connie Van Houtin, Darlene Justice; twelve grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Freeland is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, LaTonya (Maynard) Stanley; two brothers, and four sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Edgar County Humane Society.
