Fred D. Spencer's Obituary
Fred D. Spencer, age 80 of Paris passed away at 9:49 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Spencer was a tool and die maker for the Stewart Wire Company. Born July 26, 1935 in Marshall, Illinois, he was the son of the late William A. and Julia (Blockinger) Spencer. He married Mary Ellen (Shivlar) Spencer July 13, 1954 in Paris. Mrs. Spencer passed away April 16, 1982. Survivors include five sons; Freddy L. (Eve) Spencer of Monticello, Indiana, William (Angie) Spencer of Ashmore, Walter (Theresa) Spencer of Chrisman, James (Angie) Spencer of Paris, and Matthew (Felicia) Spencer of Paris, a sister Virginia Sue Cunningham of Chrisman, two brothers Bobby Spencer of Paris and George Spencer and his wife Margaret of Paris, eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and five siblings; Annabelle Hickman, Vernon Spencer, Donald Ray Spencer, Stella May Gosnell, and Bill J. Spencer. Visitation for Mr. Spencer will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. There will be no services. Cremation will follow the visitation, interment of the cremains will be in Edgar Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions in Mr. Spencer's name may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
