Francis William "Bill" Chittick, age 84 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 11:06 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2019 at Horizon Health in Paris, Illinois. Mr. Chittick was born April 27, 1935 in Edgar County, Illinois, the son of Francis William "Doc" Chittick, Sr. and Virginia (Robb) Chittick. Mr. Chittick graduated from Paris High School in 1953. He was in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956, serving in the Korean War and in Japan during peace time and earning the rank of Sergeant. He was a 1960 graduate of Purdue University and was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity while attending there. He married Linda Sunkel April 9, 1960 at the First Christian Church in Paris. Bill was a rancher, farmer, and stockbroker, a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, VFW Post 3601, American Legion Post 211, the Marine Corps League, and enjoyed fishing and horses.

Survivors include his wife Linda Chittick of Paris, Illinois, two children, Ann Chittick Cacciapaglia of Port Orchard, Washington and William John Chittick and his wife Kristin of Paris, Illinois, four grandchildren; Christopher William Cacciapaglia of Port Orchard, Washington, Allana Marie Chittick of Washington, D.C., John Nicodemus Chittick of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Braden Andrew Chittick of Evansville, Indiana, one sister Virginia Tolford of Evanston, Illinois, a brother-in-law Brent Pace of Buckeye, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Kathi Pace, his son-in-law Anthony Cacciapaglia, and a brother-in-law Pete Tolford.

Following cremation, a memorial visitation for Mr. Chittick will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at First Christian Church with Rev. Mark Parkinson officiating. Interment of the cremains will be in Edgar Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 211. Following interment, a celebration of life will held at the American Legion.
