Evelyn Joan Walter's Obituary
Evelyn Joan "Joker" Walter, age 84 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2017 at Paris Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and was employed at South Side Laundry and the FS Garden Shop. Born August 23, 1932 in Clark County, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Mary (Purcell) Ulrey. She married William G. Walter in Clark County, Illinois in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors include her children, David G. Walter and his wife Gayle of Chrisman, Illinois and Donna Ramsey of Paris, Illinois, three grandchildren; Rachel Walter of Downers Grove, Illinois, Tricia Lancaster and her husband Nick of Streamwood, Illinois, and Jared Kemper of Sacramento, California, a sister Helen Hurt of Tuscola, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers; Donnie Ulrey, Norman Ulrey, and Lee Dean Ulrey. Memorial services for Mrs. Walter will be held at a later date. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Edgar County Humane Association or Paris Carnegie Public Library.
