Ernest Ray Daugherty, age 77, of Metcalf, Illinois passed away at 5:40 P.M. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Military Rites will be at 5:00 P.M. on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Visitation will immediately follow until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Ernest was born on June 7, 1945 in Paris, Illinois. He is the son of the late Robert Foster and Mary Lucinda (Rhoden) Daugherty.

Ernest was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was a truck driver. He enjoyed mowing and small engine repair. Ernest also served his country as a member of the United States Army.

He is survived by his children: James F. (Bridget) Daugherty of Paris, Illinois, Eric L. (Amy) Daugherty of Paris, Illinois, Lucinda Baldwin of Metcalf, Illinois, Joshua A. (Mickie) Daugherty of Paris, Illinois; his siblings: David Daugherty of Paris, Illinois, Marilyn Harris of Paris, Illinois, Judith Daugherty of Paris, Illinois, Gayle (Dave) Walters of Ridge Farm, Illinois; eighteen grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; his sister in law: Judy Daugherty of Paris, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Donald Daugherty, and his brother in law: Wayne Harris.
