Elizabeth L. Englum, age 90, of Paris, Illinois passed away at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Twin Lakes Rehab Health Care.
A visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 21, 2022, at St. Mary's Church in Paris, with the Rosary to follow. Following the Rosary, a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Elizabeth was born November 18, 1931, in Edgar County, Illinois. She is the daughter of the late George R. and Clarsie (Vice) Bell. She married Thomas X. Englum, the love of her life on November 23, 1949, at St. Mary's Church in Paris. Together, they raised six children. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2009.
Elizabeth was a homemaker. She was a longtime and active member at St. Mary's Church in Paris where she was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a C.D.A member and taught CCD classes for many years.
She is survived by her children: Judith Anne Yanan (Bill Bennett) of Champaign, Illinois, Betsy Jo (Dan) Oakes of Georgetown, Illinois, Frannie (Buddy) Sawlaw of Paris, Illinois, Gerri (Mike) Miller of Paris, Illinois, George Thomas Englum of Paris, Illinois, Patrick R. (Carrie) Englum of Paris, Illinois; her grandchildren: Phil (Shawn) Yanan of Cooper City, Florida, Maggie (Joe) Petrovic of Libertyville, Illinois, Jon (Leslie) Oakes of Pikeville, North Carolina, Matt (Amber) Oakes of Byhalia, Mississippi, Beth (Andy) Dow of Newton, Illinois, Cam Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, Elizabeth K. Englum of Paris, Illinois, Reanna (David) Clendenen of Terre Haute, Indiana, Patrick Xavier (Madison) Englum of Paris, Illinois; 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Her greatest joy was spending holidays and family time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her siblings: Thomas G. Bell, George R. Bell, David L. Bell; one half-sister and two half-brothers.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.
