Edgar E. Arrasmith, age 81 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at his residence. He was a stocker for Walmart and was in the National Guard 130th Infantry in Paris. He was an avid coin and stamp collector and also collected replicas of cars. He enjoyed walking, talking, and he never knew a stranger. Born October 8, 1936 in Edgar County, Illinois, he was the son of the late Glenn and Gertrude (Campbell) Arrasmith. Survivors include six siblings; Virginia Throneburg, Alice Gordon, Kay Boren, Karen Sue Wood, and Linda Ellingsworth, all of Paris, Illinois, and Kathy Maxwell of Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings; Betty Cataldo, Robert Arrasmith, Barbara Booker, Larry Arrasmith, and Jerry Arrasmith. Visitation for Mr. Arrasmith will be held from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
