Earl D. Grubb's Obituary

Earl D. Grubb, age 87, passed away Thursday morning December 10, 2020 at Paris Health Care Center, in Paris, Illinois where he resided for the past 3 years.

In view of Covid-19 circumstances, a private/family only interment will be held on December 14, 2020 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Paris, Illinois. Military Honors by American Legion Post 211. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Earl was born March 22, 1933, the oldest son of David and Cecil (Arrasmith) Grubb. On May 4, 1953, he married Cecelia Ann Dunn at a ceremony presided by Judge Ruff at the Edgar County Courthouse in Paris, Illinois.

After graduation from Scotland High School in 1951, Mr. Grubb served four years in the United States Navy which included an assignment in the Panama Canal Zone from 1954-1957. Upon returning to Illinois, Earl and Cecelia resided on their farm in rural Chrisman, Illinois.

Earl was employed for several years at the Illinois Cereal Mill in Paris, Illinois; he also worked for Feutz Construction Company in Paris, and O'Neil Construction Company of Danville, Illinois.

Mr. Grubb was a member of Prairie Masonic Lodge 77, and the Shriners.

In his retirement years, Earl enjoyed his horses, antique collecting, reading westerns and watching sports. Family and friends also fondly remember him as a competitive Euchre player.

Earl is survived by his wife, Cecelia of Paris, Illinois, and his brother, Kenneth Grubb of Chrisman, Illinois. Additional survivors are two nephews, Larry Grubb of Orlando, Florida and James Dunn of Chrisman, Illinois; two nieces, Nancy Allison of Chrisman, Illinois, and Janice Dunn Schultz, Olympia, Washington; Great-nephew and niece survivors include Michael (Heather) Dunn of Paris, IL, Mark (Ali) Dunn,  of West Lafayette, IN, Kurt (Jenn) Schultz of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Kathryn Schultz of Seattle, Washington, Madison Grubb of Orlando, Florida, Shelby Hoult of Chrisman, Illinois, and Luke Grubb of Orlando, Florida.

The family has suggested that memorial donations may be given to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
