Obituary

Dorothy Ann Walton (Blankenbaker) 91, of Paris, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 12:50am.

Born on February 8th, 1935 in Paris, IL, she was the daughter of Roy Lee and Beulah Blankenbaker (Overton).

Dorothy was a farm girl growing up and graduating from Redmon, IL. She loved nature and being outdoors. Dorothy was an extremely hard worker, often working several jobs at a time while also farming and raising livestock. She also owned and managed several businesses throughout her life. Outside of work, she had one main hobby and that was horses! She loved all animals, but her love of horses outweighed them all. In her free time, you could find her at the many annual parades and trail rides she attended. Dorothy also loved dancing to country music, traveling, and even got her pilot’s license. She was a woman of strong faith and an active member of the Embarrass Church throughout her life. Dorothy was very generous and compassionate often helping those in need.

Dorothy is survived by granddaughters Marlice McDaniel of Marshall IL and Monica Elbot (Jason) of Denver, CO; niece Larca Ludeks (Winfield, IL); daughter in law Frankie McDaniel (Marshall IL) as well as 3 great grandchildren Cruze Candia and Harper and Bennett Elbot. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, son Keith McDaniel, brother Charles Blankenbaker, husband Bill Patrick, and niece Charla Presley.

A special thanks to the staff and residents of Hollybrook Assisted Living in Marshall for the compassionate care and friendships made.

A visitation will be held on Saturday June 20th from 10am-12pm at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, IL followed immediately by a funeral service and burial at Embarrass Cemetery in Redmon, IL.
