Dorothy Jane Vietor, age 84 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Paris Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and also had been employed at Crestwood School as the lunch secretary for 18 years and worked at Rural King. Mrs. Vietor was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Her memberships included the Otterbein Church Ladies Group the Rebecca Ruth Circle, Epson Sigma Alpha Sorority, the Blue Bird Society, Audubon Society, the Edgar County Home Extension, and she was active with the Red Cross. Jane enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, playing cards with her friends, and mostly loved being around her family.
Born April 23, 1933 in Edgar County, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Robert Raymond and Martha Fern (Sayre) Murdach. She married Glen A. Vietor January 18, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Paris; Mr. Vietor passed away May 8, 1974.
Survivors include her children; Lydia Ann Laughlin and her husband Kent of Paris, Illinois, Kelly Jane McCrocklin and her husband David of Paris, Illinois, and Raymond Allen Vietor and his wife Donna, of Chrisman, Illinois, a sister Helen Ann Cavanaugh of Robinson, Illinois, seven grandchildren; Beau Laughlin of Maui, Hawaii, Tanner Laughlin of Paris, Illinois, Hannah Todd and her husband Shane of Casey, Illinois, Allison Jane McCrocklin of Paris, Illinois, Paige Camp and her husband Russ of Paris, Illinois, Cole Vietor and his wife Chelsea of Chrisman, Illinois, and Madison McCarty and her husband Johnathan of Paris, Illinois, six great grandchildren; Ada Marie Todd, Pailynne Jo Camp, Lola Jane Camp, Cullen Jay Vietor, Conley Jude Vietor, and Asher Aiden McCarty, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter Laura Beth McCrocklin, and four siblings; Robert Lee Murdach, Ruth Mary Hunter, Joyce Weger, and Jack Murdach.
Visitation for Mrs. Vietor will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Paris. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Paris with Rev. Jeff Stahl officiating. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.
