Dorothy L. Farris, age 86, of Kansas, Illinois, passed away at 3:08 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dorothy was born on June 23, 1935 in Marshall, Illinois the daughter of the late Arthur William and Joy Louise (Marvin) Monk. She married John Max Farris in Paris, Illinois. He passed away on March 11, 2008.

She was in the food industry for many years, serving as a cook at local restaurants, and in the deli of Krogers grocery store. Dorothy spent most of her married life as a homemaker and farm wife, which she loved.

Dorothy was a long time and active member of the Blue Grass Church of God in Martinsville, Illinois.

She is survived by her children: Lavonna (Mike) Davis of Paris, Illinois, Pamella (Lee) Malone of Paris, Illinois; her grandchildren: Amy David of Ashmore, Illinois, Amanda Keys of Paris, David Manning of Kansas, Illinois, Bryan Manning of Paris, Amber Toler of Paris; her ten great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Marilyn Burba of Paris, Patricia K. Rhoads of Marshall, Illinois and Gerald (Margaret) Monk of Marshall, Illinois.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her son: Larry D. Farris.
