Doris "Pete" Gann, 79, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at 1:40 a.m. in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a great man who was loved by anyone he came in contact with. Doris was a people person and loved to talk, laugh and joke no matter if was playing with his great-grandkids or his friends at B and J's. He was a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Gann was born July 4, 1937 in Woodbury, Tennessee; the son of John and Zenobia (Finley) Gann. He married Harriett Switzer June 16, 1956 in Paris. He is survived by his wife, a daughter Nancy McKnight of Paris, his grandchildren; BJ (Jessica) Blair of Paris, Jamie Craig (Jeremy) Bennett of Camargo, and Dustin (Amanda) Blair of Chrisman, and 7 great-grandchildren; Briar Blair, Kylee Blair, Jeryn Bennett, Dylan Blair, Jace Bennett, Eli Blair, and Baine Blair, and a son-in-law Bill Blair of Paris. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Blair, his parents, and 2 siblings. Private graveside services will be held in Edgar Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
