Donald "Donnie" Lee Wright, 73, of Paris, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Donnie was born on October 14, 1952, in Paris, the son of the late Edward "Bud" and Bette Feutz Wright. He married Brenda Adams on July 27, 1979, in Paris, Illinois. She survives.

Donnie was a 1970 graduate from Paris High School. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He took great joy in watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on. He never met a stranger and truly enjoyed spending time with friends. A devoted sports enthusiast, Donnie was a loyal fan of the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs. He loved playing cards, with poker being his favorite.

Donnie was employed by and part owner of Feutz Contactors, Inc. for over 50 years. He took great pride in his work, particularly in building roads and bridges, and loved being on job sites moving dirt and seeing projects come to life.

Donnie was a longtime member of the American Legion, the Association of General Contractors, and the Indiana Constructors Association.

He is survived by his wife, his children: Matthew Wright (Ginny), Heath Wright, Heather Crippes (Ryan), Heidi Hutchings (Nick); his grandchildren: Madison Nihiser (Carson), Violet Wright, Mason Hutchings, Kenzie Hutchings, Brady Crippes, Carter Crippes, Madox Hutchings, Marcus Hutchings, Lexi Crippes, Stella Crippes; his siblings: David Wright (Marilee), Steven Wright (Tom), and Julie Brown.

Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, his in laws: Leo and Shirley (Thacker) Adams, and his brother-in-law, Brett Brown.

Memorial contributions in memory of Donnie may be made to Paris High School Athletics.
