Donald G. Pennington, Sr.'s Obituary
Donald G. Pennington, Sr., age 77 of Zionsville, IN formerly of Paris, IL passed away at 7:37 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Zionsville Meadows, Zionsville, IN. He was a millwright at General Motors in Danville, IL.
Services are noon Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - noon Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Edgar Cemetery.
Donald was born May 14, 1938 in Paris the son of the late Ralph Eugene and Charlotte Delphia Edwards Pennington. He married Mildred Marie Duzan Pennington June 23, 1956 in Paris and she passed away September 30, 2007.
He is survived by his children: Debbra (Brad) Shotts of Sheridan, IN, Donald Pennington, Jr. of Paris, Keith (Trina) Pennington of Martinsville, IL, Charlotte Pennington of Paris; his grandchildren: Jacob (Brittany) Shotts of Whiteland, IN, Ocea ( Brian) Warriner of Stuart, FL, Chelsea Pennington of Palm City, FL, Austin Pennington and Kolin Pennington both of Martinsville, IL, Justin (Iesha) Pennington of Charleston, Kayla Pennington of Paris; ten great-grandchildren; his sister Charlotte (Robert) Glidewell of Georgetown. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his half-brother Richard Edwards.
Donald attended the Church of God. He was known for his love of drag racing. Don served his nation in the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Marine Corps and the National Guard.
