Donald Lee Findley, 96, of Paris, died Wednesday, November 25 at Paris Health and Rehabilitation Center in Paris, Illinois.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, all services will be private. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Don was born September 19, 1924, in Marshall, Illinois the son of the late Hurley and Pearl (Buehler) Findley.
He was widely known in Paris as the TV repairman from Parkway Furniture Store.
Don served in the United States Army as a radioman in the Philippines during WWII.
Survivors include two children, David (Jeanette Ogle) Findley of Florissant, MO., and Janice (late Bruce) Ziemer of Chicago; four stepdaughters, Nancy Elliott and Diane Cotts of Chicago, Karlene Avgerinos of Las Vegas, and Annette Salvaggio of Paris. There are two grandsons, Patrick (Amanda) Findley of Olivette, MO., and Scott (Mary Jo) Findley of Franklin, VA; ten step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and 23 step-great- grandchildren. Three sisters also survive, Joan Thomas of Murphys, CA., Phyllis Meeks of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Ruth (Tom) Ferguson of The Villages, FL; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, Miriam Low Findley, in 2019 and his late wife Mary Ruth Thompson Findley who died August 26, 2020. Two brothers and five sisters also preceded him in death.
