Donald Jeremiah Curl's Obituary
Donald Jeremiah Curl, age 86 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Mr. Curl was a plumber, owning Don Curl Plumbing, and was a plumber for Art Reese Lumber Company for 30 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Korean War, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 860, and American Legion Post 211. Born October 26, 1931 in Paris, Illinois, he was the son of the late Charles Edmond and Genevieve (Duga) Curl. He married Dorothy "Dottie" Johnston Curl May 1, 1971 in Paris, Illinois, and she survives. Other survivors include four children; David Allen (Teresa) Curl of Tucson, Arizona, Daniel Kevin (Tandy) Curl of Taylorville, Illinois, Debra Jo Hepburn of Georgetown, Illinois, and Donna Marie (L.J.) Johnson of Paris, Illinois, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two step-sons, James R. Hart and George A. Hart, a son-in-law Mike Hepburn, one great granddaughter Emma Grace Silvernail, three sisters; Eva Mae Elledge, Loretta Garwood, and Dorothy Greenwald, and two brothers, Bernie Curl and Bill Curl. Visitation for Mr. Curl will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Memorial services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, also at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shop with a Cop or Little League Challengers of East Central Illinois.
