Dewey Lee Colter's Obituary

Dewey Lee Colter, age 91 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 1:43 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in his home. He was a truck driver for Northrup King for twenty years and a member of Vermilion Methodist Church. Born August 5, 1923 in Lafayette, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mamie L. (Parker) Colter. He married Virginia Warmouth April 15, 1989. Survivors include his wife Virginia Colter of Paris, Illinois, children; Dewey Ray Colter of Evansville, Indiana, Beverly Davis of Mattoon, Illinois, Debbie North of Redmon, Illinois, Lori Colter of Wyoming, David Colter of Pennsylvania, Marvin Colter of Chatsworth, Georgia and Billy Colter of Chatsworth, Georgia, siblings; Paul G. (Dorothy) Colter of Paris, Illinois, Luther (Paula Williams) Colter of Paris, Illinois, Fred Colter of Savoy, Illinois and Agnes Jarrell of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, several grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Susie Colter and siblings Randall Colter, Odell Colter and Carol Moser.

Visitation for Mr. Colter will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Bro. Kurt Speece officiating.
Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
