Dave was a farmer and seed salesman.  He was a member of the Illinois Army National Guard 1544th Transportation Company in Paris for six years and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 860.  Dave was a lifelong member and trustee of St. Aloysius Church. Dave's greatest joy was his family.  One of his last statements he shared with us was how proud he was of his family.  He loved food and being with people which made a perfect blend for his love of catering.  He was always ready to go on a new traveling adventure whether it was with family or friends.  In his younger years, he enjoyed the thrill of motorcycles and being in the Demo Derby, as well as making people laugh.  Dave was a fun person.

Dave was born to the late Bert Barrett and the late Sarah Dicken Barrett on September 30, 1945.

He is survived by his wife; Lee (Day), his four children; Jody (Ronnie) Wagoner of Paris, Illinois, Jamy (Justin) Cearlock of Paris, Illinois, Joshua (Erica) Barrett of Homer Glen, Illinois and Jake (Amanda) Barrett of Paris, Illinois.  He is survived by his 12 grandchildren; Taylor Barrett of Danville, Illinois, Cory Cearlock, Drew Cearlock, Raelee Wagoner, and Reese Wagoner all of Paris, Illinois, Bella Barrett, Dayton Barrett, Lilly Barrett, Julia Barrett all of Homer Glen, Illinois, Naomi vanIngen, Claudia vanIngen and Boyd Barrett all of Paris, Illinois. He has four surviving siblings; Ann Robison, Nancy Hogan, Kay McCulloch and Bruce Barrett all of Paris, Illinois.  Dave was preceded in death by his brother Steve Barrett.
