Daryl C. Potts's Obituary

Daryl C. Potts, 77, died on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Serenity Hospice & Home of Oregon, IL. He was born in Paris, IL, on October 24, 1947, the son of William & Cecil Mae (O'Hair) Potts.  He spent much of his young life in the Paris area before moving to the Dillon & Grand Junction areas of Colorado in the early 1970s.  While living in the Dillon area, Daryl worked as carpenter and was a volunteer fireman. After seeing it snow 12 months of the year, Daryl moved to Grand Junction where there was much less snow. He loved his time living in Colorado, especially in the high desert of the Western Slope. Throughout his life, Daryl enjoyed horses, motorcycles, hiking and camping and even sport-shooting.  While in Grand Junction he enjoyed working for Ute Water as a water plant operator until his retirement. Brother Daryl C. Potts was a lifetime member of Masonic Prairie Lodge #77 as well as the Scottish Rite.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents William & Cecil Mae.  He is survived by his sister Wilma Jean Cook of Paris, IL and nephews Curtis (Laura) Cook of Oregon, IL; Kerrick (Michelle) Cook of Paris, IL.

Daryl will be laid to rest with his parents in a public graveside service in Edgar Cemetery, Paris, IL at 10:00 AM, Saturday July 26, 2025. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family. Masonic Services will be administered by Prairie Lodge #77.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed, in his name, to the Edgar County Animal Shelter.
