Daniel John Thomey, age 72, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

A visitation will be held Sunday, December 26, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

He was born September 7, 1949 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Walter John and Delores Elaine Andersen Thomey. He married Marsha Sue Waltz on August 14, 1987 in Danville, Illinois. She survives.

Daniel was a shipping and receiving manager and later was a delivery driver for Pearmans Pharmacy in Paris. He was a longtime member at First Christian Church and a very active member of the men's group. He was a member of the Elks. He also enjoyed watching all types of sports especially when his grandchildren were playing.

He is survived by his children: Jeremy Marshall Thomey of Georgia, Laura Stephanie (Doug) Pitts of Paris, Illinois, Blaine Justin "B.J." Thomey (Katy) of St. Joseph, Illinois; his siblings: Jane Thomey of Paris, Illinois, Becky Morris of Paris, Illinois, Sue (John) Ciba of Elkhart, Indiana; and his 12 grandchildren.

Daniel is preceded in death by one brother and three infant sisters.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
