Dan B. Ryals, Jr., age 86 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 6:44 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Ryals was a retired Major from the United States Air Force and also was an engineer for Illinois Department of Transportation. He was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, American Legion Post 211, VFW Post 3601, and 40 et 8. Born October 23, 1930 in Coushatta, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Dan B. Ryals, Sr. and the late Lophia (Cannon) Ryals. He married Margaret (Snider) Ryals February 11, 1956 at the base chapel of Harlingen Air Force Base, Texas. Mrs. Ryals passed away March 3, 2012. Survivors include two children, Deborah Ryals of Buena Park, California and Richard (Diane) Ryals of Jacksonville, Illinois, two grandchildren, Renee Ryals and Collin Ryals, a sister Virginia Moncrief of Louisiana, a sister-in-law Mary Flenner of Robinson, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Ryals will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Embarrass Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
