June 16, 1924 – October 22, 2010
Clyde H. Hard, age 86 of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010 in the Veteran's Administration Illiana Health Care Hospital in Danville, Illinois. He was an interior and exterior painter and also served as a crossing guard for Memorial and Wenz Schools for fifteen years.
Mr. Hard served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II and became a Prisoner of War during this time.
He was born June 16, 1924 in Shiloh Township, Edgar County, Illinois to the late Olin and Mable Marie (Pine) Hard. He married Olivine L. (Cash) Hard in 1946 in Grandview, Illinois, and she survives.
Other survivors include his son Eddie Hard and his wife Lois of Paris, Illinois, one nephew, and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Full Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601.
