Charles Walter Rollings's Obituary
Charles Walter Rollings, age 66 of Ashmore, Illinois, passed away at 4:12 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his residence. He was a truck driver for CHI and Service Star. Mr. Rollings was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 211 in Paris, Illinois and Enon Baptist Church in Ashmore, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and playing cards with his family. Born July 18, 1950 in Paris, Illinois, he was the son of the late Walter and Blanche (Wright) Rollings. He married Sandra (Bright) Rollings April 14, 2000 at the Presbyterian Church in Ashmore, Illinois and she survives. Other survivors include four children; Scott Rollings of New Mexico, Michelle (Mark) Kittl of Champaign, Illinois, Eric (Thersa) Rollings of Tolono, Illinois, and Robin (Derek) Fasnacht of Ashmore, Illinois, two step-children, Beth Barrett of Sarasota, Florida and Dale (Tara) Golladay of Ashmore, Illinois, six siblings; Donna Shewey of Paris, Illinois, Wanda Porter of Paris, Illinois, Nancy Weger of Bloomington, Illinois, Larry Rollings of Hume, Illinois, Susie Kurek of Brocton, Illinois, and Ruth Rollings of Monticello, Illinois, fourteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son William Golladay, three brothers; Richard Rollings, Thomas Rollings, and Robert Rollings, and two sisters Betty Eggers and Margaret Whittemore. Visitation for Mr. Rollings will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Embarrass Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 211 and VFW Post 3601.
