Charles N. Hunter age 76 of Paris, IL passed away at 10:30 p.m., Friday November 16, 2018 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. He was a painter at Midwest Bodies for 35 years and a shop foreman at Keys Fertilizer. Charles was a member of the United States Army from March 24, 1964 to March 20, 1966 serving in Viet Nam. He is a member of V.F.W. 3601 serving as commander in 2014 and 2015, American Legion Post 211 and the 40 & 8.

Following cremation, private graveside services and Military Honors will be held at Edgar Cemetery. Public celebration of life will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.

Charles was born at the family home April 23, 1942 in Hunter Township, Edgar County, Illinois the son of the late Charles Franklin and Hildred Newell Hunter. He married Viola Cown Hunter and she survives. Charles is also survived by his children: Charles "James" Hunter of Paris, Cynthia "Cindy" (Phillip) Garver of Paris, Curtis "Joe" (Kim) Hunter of Dana, IN, Mark (Liz) Trapp of Sorento, IL and Daniel (Deanna) Trapp of Aviano, Italy; his sisters Carolyn Miller of Florida and Barbara Hernandez of Oregon; his grandchildren Katie Beth and Erica Garver, Brook and Michael Hunter, Colten and Wyatt Trapp, Kelcie, Tiffiany and Danielle Smith and Katie Board; his great-grandchildren: Tuff Hunter, Danny Cottrell, Dalton Troop and Kinley Seeley. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Robert Hunter, Kitty Phipps and Marilyn LeNeve.

Memorials may be made to Camp Lions for the Deaf and Blind in care of the funeral home.
