Cecelia Ann Grubb, age 90, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Carriage Crossing Senior Living in Paris where she has been a resident since November 6, 2022.

Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at St. Mary's Cemetery in Paris.  Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.

Cecelia was born on July 10, 1932, the daughter of Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Conner) Dunn.  She married Earl D. Grubb on May 4, 1953, at a ceremony performed by Judge Ruff at the Edgar County Courthouse in Paris, IL. Earl preceded her in death, December 10, 2020. She was also preceded in death by one brother, George A. Dunn.

Mrs. Grubb accompanied her husband on a U.S. Navy assignment to the Panama Canal Zone in 1954-1957.  Upon return from that posting, Cecelia and Earl resided on their farm in rural Chrisman, Illinois.  Cecelia was employed for many years at the Edgar County Bank and Trust until her retirement.  In retirement years, she enjoyed her pet cats, collecting antiques, and watching sports, and especially appreciated her community and neighborhood of friends at the Lutheran Village in Paris. Family members will miss her dedicated card-mailing; she never missed a birthday, anniversary, and many other holidays.  The family also appreciates the care and support provided by Carriage Crossing and Lincoln Land Hospice in recent days.

Cecelia is survived by two nephews, Larry Grubb of Orlando, FL and James F. Dunn of Chrisman, and two nieces, Nancy Allison of Chrisman, and Janice D. Schultz of Olympia, WA.  Great-nephew and niece survivors include Michael (Heather) Dunn of Paris, Mark (Ali) Dunn of West Lafayette, IN, Kurt (Jenn) Schultz of Lake Oswego, OR, Kathryn Schultz of Seattle, WA, Madison Grubb of Orlando, FL, Shelby Hoult of Chrisman, and Luke Grubb of Orlando, FL.

The family has suggested that memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church in Paris, or charity of donor's choice.
