Carrie Kathleen Lance, age 99, of Paris, Illinois passed away at 2:05 A.M. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Willowbrook Memory Care in Marshall, Illinois.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Edgar Cemetery in Paris. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Carrie was born on December 10, 1923 in Paris, Illinois to Joseph Francis and Cynthia Catherine (Abernathy) Tomlinson. She married Charles Newton Lance on October 31, 1943 in Paris, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1954 because of a work related accident.

Carrie worked for Columbia Records in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was a member of the Paris congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She lived her faith by sharing her beliefs with others and selflessly cared for several of her relatives in their last days. Carrie was a good neighbor, took pride in her home, and loved flowers.

She is survived by her niece, Marsha (Bill) Duke; her half-brother, Andrew Minnick; and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Carrie is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her siblings: Doris Walls, Buddy Tomlinson, John Tomlinson, Charles Minnick; her niece Sally Parkinson, and her nephew: Larry Tomlinson.
