Carol L. Roberts age 80 of Kansas, Illinois passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Monday September 14, 2020 at her residence.

In keeping with Federal Mandates due to COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the state regulation of 25 visitors with masks allowed inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday September 17, 2020 at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home in Paris, Illinois. A second visitation will be held on Friday September 18, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Le Roy, Illinois, with funeral services to follow immediately after. Pastors John and Susie Deeters of Ranch House Church and Pastor Joe Hanley of Paris Southern Baptist Church will officiate the funeral service.

Carol was born January 21, 1940 in Downs, Illinois the daughter of the late John H. Sledge and Louise Smith Sledge.

She married Donald W. Roberts on May 11, 1973 at the State Line Christian Church outside of Paris, Illinois. He passed away July 16, 2004.

Carol was the Activity Director for The Asta Care Center in Bloomington, Illinois. She also worked as a Quality Control Inspector for Unarco Industries in Paris, Illinois.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Paris, Illinois, Horace Baptist Church and a Co-Founding member of Embarrass Community Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 plus years. Carol was also a member of the gospel groups the Trail Blazers and the Cowboy Singers, both out of Deland, Illinois.

Carol is survived by her children: Tarol (Kathy) Maxwell of Muldraugh, Kentucky, Travis Maxwell of Philo, Illinois, Teressa Fox (Frank Mooneyham) of Paris,Illinois, Lisa (James) Hall of Springhill, Florida, Lori Ann Roberts of Paris, Illinois, Tracey (Andy) Kay of Brazil, Indiana, Penny (Jeff) Goble of Danville, Illinois; her siblings: Joann McCullough of Lincoln, Illinois, John D. (Sharon) Sledge of Carr, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Donald Roberts; daughter: Mabel Marie Maxwell; son: Todd Maxwell; brother: Kenneth D. Sledge; grandchild: Shea Sapp and great-grandchild Jarrad (Deuce) Schomaker.

Memorials may be made to St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana.
